Slumdog Millionaire
For those who have not seen an Indian film before this movie may be novel and interesting. However, it just draws for a long history of sappy, predictable plots and caste-related issues to deliver a more slick version of Bollywood. It manages to break one taboo and actually ends with a kiss to appeal to Western audiences.

Settlers of Catan

A great game with mass appeal. With Catan you can sit down and teach non-gamer friends and the ladies and no one will get incredibly bored. The replayability is high. I don’t like the Cities & Knights expansion very much, but the basic game is great plus the 6-player extension. Overall a very, very well done game for all.

Kintera Sphere
One of the most convoluted CMS out there. While occasionally able to do what you want, Sphere will take you a huge amount of time just to find the correct button to click. I hate Sphere so much, I really do. If it didn’t have as many features as it does, it would be worse the Blackbaud NetCommunity.

CMS Made Simple

This is a good mid-range CMS system for someone who needs more than Wordpress but doesn’t want to get bogged down by Drupal. It is easy to use, even for people who are not savvy. CMSMS avoids cluttering our brains with new and confusing paradigms and just lets us add pages and images and files to our site. Nice.

Vista
Microsoft Vista is way more secure than XP, we’ll give it that. But to the extent that it eliminates functionality in the printer and other driver departments and offers very little new functionality other than a new pricetag and a fluffy interface, it is a disaster. A properly patched XP is just about as good. Skip Vista or buy a Mac.

Wordpress

Simply the best self-publishing tool for an individual or small business. Although limited in some ways (c-commerce, CRM) Wordpress is the easiest and fastest CMS to get started, hands down. A helpful community and numerous plug-ins back it up. Install a theme - or for developers the theme building is easy. For a site done quickly and powerfully Wordpress is the choice.
